Ofsted Inspection

As you are aware we had our Ofsted inspection on 17th October 2017. I am pleased to inform you that the school continues to be rated as good, has maintained the considerable strengths of the last inspection and pupils continue to make good progress.

This was a short inspection and I have attached a copy of the letter I received from the Inspector. A copy has also been put on the school website.

In the letter Ofsted say that:

  • Teachers have high expectations for what all pupils can achieve.
  • Staff provide interesting and stimulating learning opportunities through the creative curriculum. A special mention was made of our music, art and sports provision.
  • The school is extremely well led and managed. Leaders and governors are aspirational for pupils and committed to the continued improvement of the school.
  •  Behaviour is particularly good and pupils are happy, confident and proud of their school.
  • Pupils say they enjoy learning because teachers make work fun and help them to do their best. Children are confident that staff look after them well. The staff take great pride in knowing each pupil and their family.

The report also highlights the progress pupils make throughout school and by the end of Key Stage 2 pupils make progress well above other pupils nationally.

The Inspector identified only one area for development which we are already addressing regarding an aspect of reading.

Thank you to all those who responded to the Ofsted survey. The report identifies that parents hold the school and its staff in high esteem.

This is an inspection report which reflects the strong teamwork of staff, governors and our parents/carers. The children are a credit to us and on a personal level, I am very proud of their achievements and their positive attitudes to their learning.
